Generator Decoupler - Operation

OPERATION

The clutch pulley allows the serpentine belt to drive the generator during engine acceleration and at engine idle. When engine RPM decreases, the clutch pulley allows the generator to free-wheel which removes the load of the generator from the accessory drive belt.
