Powertrain Control Module - Installation






INSTALLATION





If the powertrain control module (PCM) is replaced of usage, update the mileage and vehicle identification number (VIN) in the new PCM. Use the scan tool to change the mileage and VIN in the PCM. If this step is not done a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) may be set. Refer to the appropriate Powertrain Diagnostic Manual and the scan tool.

1. Install electrical connectors (5) to PCM (2).
2. Install PCM (2) to left side inner fender support (1)
3. Install cover (3) and mounting bolts (4). Tighten bolts to 7 Nm (62 in. lbs.)





4. Connect negative battery cable. Tighten to 10 Nm (90 in. lbs.)
5. Reprogram radio and clock.
6. Using scan tool, program the all necessary information into the PCM. Refer to Programming and Relearning.
