Pressure Hose
INSTALLATION
CAUTION: Do not install a previously used hose and quick-connect on this vehicle. The pressure hose quick-connect is a one-time use component and must be replaced anytime the pressure hose is disconnected at the power steering pump. It cannot be remove from the pressure hose once installed.
NOTE: Before installation, make sure hose ends are clean an O-rings are lubricated with clean power steering fluid. Also, make sure the nylon gasket on the quick-connect is in place and unblemished.
1. Install power steering pressure hose (1) in steering gear fluid port. Tighten pressure hose tube nut to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.).
2. Thread NEW quick-connect fitting into power steering pump (1) port. Tighten fitting to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs)
3. Press end of NEW pressure hose (2) into fitting, snapping it into place. Make sure it cannot be pulled back out.
4. Install air cleaner.
5. Connect the battery negative (-) cable to battery negative battery terminal.
6. Fill and bleed power steering system. Power Steering System Bleeding
7. Check for leaks.
