A/C-Heater Control Illumination Inoperative

A/C - HEATER CONTROL ILLUMINATION INOPERATIVE





For a complete wiring diagram refer to the Wiring Information Electrical Diagrams






1. CHECK FOR BODY CONTROL MODULE DTCS
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool check for codes.

Does the scan tool display any codes?

Yes

- Refer to the appropriate category for the related symptom(s).
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.

No

- Go To 2

2. CHECK FOR POWER TO THE (E2) PANEL LAMPS DRIVER CKT




1. Turn the Headlamp switch on.
2. Rotate the Panel Dimmer switch to the full brightness setting.

CAUTION: The test light must illuminate brightly. Compare the brightness to that of a direct connection to the battery.

3. Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, back probe the (E2) Panel Lamps Driver circuit in the A/C-Heater Control Module C2 harness connector.

Does the test light illuminate brightly?

Yes

- Go To 3

No

- Go To 4

3. INOPERATIVE BULB(S)
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Remove the inoperative bulb(s) from the A/C - Heater Control Module.

NOTE: If necessary, hold the bulb in front of a lamp to see the filament.

3. Inspect the bulb(s).

Is each inoperative bulb Ok?

Yes

- Replace the A/C - Heater Control Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.

No

- Replace the inoperative bulb(s).
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.

4. PANEL LAMPS DRIVER CIRCUIT OPEN




1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the A/C - Heater Control C2 harness connector.
3. Disconnect the Body Control Module C4 harness connector.
4. Measure the resistance of the (E2) Panel Lamps Driver circuit between the A/C - Heater Control C2 harness connector and the Body Control Module C4 harness connector.

Does the ohm meter read open circuit?

Yes

- Repair the (E2) Panel Lamps Driver circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.

No

- Replace the Body Control Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
