A/C Condenser - Removal






REMOVAL

WARNING: Refer to the applicable warnings and cautions for this system before performing the following operation Warning and Caution . Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.





1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Recover the refrigerant from the refrigerant system Refrigerant System Recovery.
3. Remove the air intake ducts from the front of the air cleaner assembly.
4. Remove the bolt (6) that secures the A/C liquid line (7) to the A/C condenser (2).
5. Disconnect the A/C liquid line from the A/C condenser and remove and discard the O-ring seal.
6. Remove the bolts (1 and 3) that secure the passenger side of the A/C condenser to the radiator (5).





7. Remove the bolt (5) that secures the A/C discharge line (4) to the A/C condenser (7).
8. Disconnect the A/C discharge line from the A/C condenser and remove and discard the O-ring seal.
9. Remove the bolts (6 and 8) that secure the A/C condenser to the driver side of the radiator (1).

NOTE: The A/C condenser can not be removed without first loosening the upper radiator isolators and positioning the radiator rearward.

10. Loosen the upper radiator isolators (2) and position the radiator and cooling fan (3) rearward.

NOTE: Care should be taken to not damage the condenser cooling fins or refrigerant tubes when removing the A/C condenser from the engine compartment.

11. Carefully lift the A/C condenser up and remove it from the engine compartment.
12. Install plugs in, or tape over the opened refrigerant line fittings and condenser ports.
