Engine - Installation

INSTALLATION

CAUTION: If debris was found in oil pan, the oil cooler lines and oil cooler must be replaced. If contaminated oil cooler or lines are reused, engine damage could result.





1. Attach engine hoist and lower the engine into engine compartment.
2. Remove engine hoist.
3. Raise vehicle on hoist.

4. Align left and right engine mounts and install engine mount isolator nuts (1). Tighten nuts to 102 Nm (75 ft. lbs.).
5. Connect ground strap to right side engine mount.
6. Install transmissionTR6060 Manual Transmission - Installation.





7. Remove front engine lift bracket 10034-1 (1).





8. Remove rear engine lift bracket 10034-2 (1).





9. Connect oil cooler lines (1,2) to engineProcedures.





10. Install bolts (2) securing A/C line to oil pan.
11. Install oil level indicator tube and indicator.
12. Install up stream oxygen sensors in the exhaust manifolds.
13. Install lower radiator hose.





14. Connect starter electrical connections (2,3,6).





15. Connect exhaust system at left and right exhaust manifolds using NEW V-Band clamps. Tighten V-Band clamps to 11 Nm (100 in. lbs.).
16. Install left and right catalytic converter support hanger bracket bolts (1). Tighten bolts to 28 Nm (250 in. lbs.).
17. Install under body stone shields.
18. Lower vehicle.





19. Install left and right side sill panels .
20. Connect A/C clutch electrical connector.
21. Connect A/C lines to A/C compressor.





22. Connect brake booster vacuum hose (2).
23. Connect PCM connectors and ground wire at left side frame rail.





24. Connect coolant reservoir inlet hose (5) to coolant reservoir.
25. Connect heater hoses to engine.





26. Install and connect generator (1).
27. Install power steering pump (4) and reservoir.
28. Install accessory drive belt Serpentine Accessory Drive Belt - Installation.
29. Install upper radiator hose.





30. Install front strut tower brace (1) and install strut tower brace retaining bolts (2).
31. Install cowl cover Cowl Panel Cover - Installation.
32. Install windshield wiper arms Wiper Arm - Installation.
33. Evacuate and recharge air conditioning system Refrigerant System Charge.
34. Fill cooling system Service and Repair.





35. Install NEW oil filter (1).
36. Fill engine crankcase with proper oil to correct level .





37. Install air cleaner housing (1) assembly Air Cleaner Body - Installation.





38. Install hood.
39. Connect negative battery cable (1).
40. Start engine and check for leaks.
