Cylinder Head Cover(s) - Removal

REMOVAL

NOTE: Care must be taken to protect the cylinder head cover powder coating from scrapes and abrasions.





1. Disconnect negative battery cable (1) from battery (2).





2. Remove coil cover retaining bolts and remove coil cover.





3. If removing the right cylinder head cover, disconnect PCV hose (5) and reposition oil level indicator tube.
4. When removing the left cylinder head cover, disconnect brake booster hose (2) and make-up air hose (3).
5. Disconnect coil electrical connectors.

NOTE: Do not remove spark wires while hot.

NOTE: Remove spark plug wires and heat shields with spark plug wire pliers.

6. Remove spark plug wires from spark plugs.





7. Remove cylinder head cover(s).
