Driver Door Unlatch Inoperative

DRIVER DOOR UNLATCH INOPERATIVE

1. DTC PRESENT
1. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

Does the scan tool display any Door Lock related trouble codes?

Yes

- Perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure. Body Control System.

No

- Go To 2

2. LATCH MOTOR




1. Disconnect the Latch Motor connector.
2. Connect a 12-volt test light between the (P127) Driver Door Unlatch Driver circuit and the (P129) Driver Door Unlatch Return circuit.
3. With the scan tool, actuate the UNLATCH DRIVER DOOR and then actuate RETURN LATCH.

Did the test light illuminate brightly when the door was actuated?

Yes

- Replace the Latch Motor.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Go To 3

3. (P127) DRIVER DOOR UNLATCH DRIVER CIRCUIT OPEN




1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Body Control Module C4 connector.
3. Measure the resistance of the (P127) Driver Door Unlatch Driver circuit between the BCM C4 connector and the Latch Motor connector.

Is the resistance below 2.0 ohms?

Yes

- Go To 4

No

- Repair the (P127) Driver Door Unlatch Driver circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

4. (P129) DRIVER DOOR UNLATCH RETURN CIRCUIT OPEN
1. Measure the resistance of the (P129) Driver Door Unlatch Return circuit between the BCM C4 connector and the Latch Motor connector.

Is the resistance below 2.0 ohms?

Yes

- Replace the Body Control Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Repair the (P129) Driver Door Unlatch Return circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
