Park Lamp Output Short






PARK LAMP OUTPUT SHORT

For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information Electrical Diagrams

- When Monitored:
Output is ON to OFF transition.

- Set Condition:
When Output is ON to OFF transition and voltage is detected low at output for 10 seconds.





1. INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the Scan Tool, clear all BCM DTC's.
3. Turn the Park Lamps ON.
4. With the Scan Tool, read the DTC information.

Does the Scan Tool read: Park Lamp Output Short?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- The condition that caused the symptom is currently not present. Inspect the related wiring for a possible intermittent condition. Look for any chafed, pierced,pinched, or partially broken wires.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test

2. PARK LAMP OUTPUT CIRCUIT SHORTED
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Park Lamp harness connector.
3. Disconnect the BCM C2 harness connector.
4. Measure the resistance between the Park Lamp Output circuit and ground.

Is the resistance below 100.0 ohms?

Yes

- Repair the Park Lamp Output circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test

No

- Go To 3

3. PARK LAMP
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Park Lamp harness connector.
3. Turn the ignition on.
4. Turn the park Lamps on.
5. Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, check the Park Lamp Output circuit.

Does the test light illuminate brightly?

Yes

- Replace the applicable Park Lamp.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test

No

- Replace the Body Control Module.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test
