Left Fog Lamp Output Shorted






LEFT FOG LAMP OUTPUT SHORTED





For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information Electrical Diagrams






1. INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, clear all BCM DTC's.
3. Turn the Fog Lamps on.
4. With the scan tool, read the DTC information.

Does the Scan Tool read: Left Fog Lamp Output Shorted?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- The condition that caused the symptom is currently not present. Inspect the related wiring for a possible intermittent condition. Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched, or partially broken wires.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test

2. FOG LAMP
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Remove and install a known good Fog Lamp in place of the Left Fog Lamp.

Does the Left Fog Lamp operate normally?

Yes

- Replace the Fog Lamp.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test

No

- Go To 3

3. BODY CONTROL MODULE




1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Remove the Left Fog Lamp.
3. Measure the voltage of the (L89) Left Fog Lamp Output circuit and ground.

Is the voltage above 1.0 volts?

Yes

- (L89) Repair the Left Fog Lamp Output circuit for a short condition.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test

No

- Replace the Body Control Module.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test
