Dome Switch Input Short
DOME SWITCH INPUT SHORT

- When Monitored:
Continuously
- Set Condition:
When the input voltage is less than 0.2 volts for over 10 seconds.
1. INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, clear all BCM DTCs.
3. Turn the Dome Lamps on.
4. With the scan tool, read the DTC information.
Does the scan tool display: Dome Switch Input Short?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- The condition that caused the symptom is currently not present. Inspect the related wiring for a possible intermittent condition. Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched, or partially broken wires.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test
2. PANEL LAMPS DIMMER SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Multifunction Switch harness connector.
3. Disconnect the Body Control Module C2 connector.
4. Measure the resistance of the Panel Lamps Dimmer Signal Circuit to ground.
Is the resistance below 1000 ohms?
Yes
- Repair the Panel Lamps Dimmer Signal Circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test
No
- Go To 3
3. HEADLAMP SWITCH
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Multifunction Switch harness connector.
3. Measure the resistance of the Panel Lamps Dimmer Signal Circuit and ground.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes
- Replace the Multifunction Switch.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test
No
- Replace the Body Control Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test
