Dome Switch Input Open






DOME SWITCH INPUT OPEN

For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information Electrical Diagrams

- When Monitored:
Continuously

- Set Condition:
When the input voltage is greater than 4.8 volts for over 10 seconds.





1. INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, clear all BCM DTCs.
3. Turn the Dome Lamps on.
4. With the scan tool, read the DTC information.

Does the scan tool display: Dome Switch Input Open?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- The condition that caused the symptom is currently not present. Inspect the related wiring for a possible intermittent condition. Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched, or partially broken wires.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test

2. PANEL LAMPS DIMMER SIGNAL CIRCUIT OPEN
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Body Control Module C2 harness connector.
3. Disconnect the Multifunction Switch harness connector.
4. Measure the resistance of the Panel Lamps Dimmer Signal Circuit.

Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?

Yes

- Go To 3

No

- Repair the Panel Lamps Dimmer Signal Circuit for an open condition.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test

3. BODY CONTROL MODULE
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Body Control Module C2 harness connector.
3. Measure the voltage of the Panel Lamps Dimmer Signal circuit.

Is the voltage below 4.8 volts?

Yes

- Replace the Body Control Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test

No

- Replace the Multifunction Switch.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test
