39-IGNITION MUX SWITCH INPUT OPEN

For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information Electrical Diagrams

- When Monitored:
Continuously.

- Set Condition:
When the BCM detects the ignition switch MUX circuit voltage is above 4.7 volts for at least 2 seconds.

1. (G20) IGNITION SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT SHORT TO VOLTAGE

1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Ignition Switch harness connector.
3. Disconnect the BCM C2 harness connector.
4. Measure the voltage between the (G20) Ignition Switch Sense circuit and ground.

Is the voltage above 5.00 volts?

Yes

- Repair the (G20) Ignition Switch Sense circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test

No

- Go To 2

2. (G20) IGNITION SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT OPEN

1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Measure the resistance of the (G20) Ignition Switch Sense circuit between the BCM C2 connector and the Ignition Switch connector.

Is the resistance above 5.0 ohms?

Yes

- Repair the (G20) Ignition Switch Sense circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test

No

- Go To 3

3. (G900) IGNITION SWITCH SENSE RETURN CIRCUIT OPEN

1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Measure the resistance of the (G900) Ignition Switch Sense Return circuit between the BCM C2 connector and the Ignition Switch connector.

Is the resistance above 5.0 ohms?

Yes

- Repair the (G900) Sense Return circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test

No

- Go To 4

4. IGNITION SWITCH

1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Reconnect the Ignition Switch harness connector.
3. Disconnect the BCM C2 harness connector.
4. Measure the resistance of the Ignition Switch using the following values:
5. Key Out: 20140 - 22460 ohms
6. Key In: 7790 - 8810 ohms
7. Accessory: 3131 - 3564 ohms
8. Unlock: 1472 - 1764 ohms
9. Run: 539 -767 ohms

Did the Ignition Switch measure the correct resistance in each position?

Yes

- Replace and program the Body Control Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test

No

- Replace the Ignition Switch.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test
