2D PWM Dimming Output Short

2D-PWM DIMMING OUTPUT SHORT





For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information Electrical Diagrams

- When Monitored:
With the Park Lamps on.

- Set Condition:
The BCM detects over current on a PWM Dimming Output circuit for 10 seconds.





1. HVAC CONTROL





NOTE: The only faults that will set this DTC are the Panel Lamps Dimmer circuits to the Radio and the HVAC Control, or an internal short in the Radio or HVAC Control.

1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, erase BCM DTCs.
3. Turn the ignition off.
4. Disconnect the HVAC Control harness connector.
5. Actuate the Park Lamps.
6. Turn the ignition on.
7. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

Does the scan tool display PWM DIMMING OUTPUT SHORT?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- Replace the HVAC Control.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test

2. RADIO




1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, erase BCM DTCs.
3. Turn the ignition off.
4. Disconnect the Radio harness connector.
5. Actuate the Park Lamps.
6. Turn the ignition on.
7. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

Does the scan tool display PWM DIMMING OUTPUT SHORT?

Yes

- Go To 3

No

- Replace the Radio.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test

3. (E2) PANEL LAMPS DRIVER CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND - HVAC




1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the HVAC Control harness connector.
3. Disconnect the BCM C4 harness connector.
4. Measure the resistance between ground and the (E2) Panel Lamps Driver circuit.

Does the test light illuminate?

Yes

- Repair the (E2) Panel Lamps Driver circuit for a short to ground between the BCM and the HVAC Control.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test

No

- Go To 4

4. (E2) PANEL LAMPS DRIVER SHORT TO GROUND - RADIO




1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Radio harness connector.
3. Measure the resistance between ground and the (E2) Panel Lamps Driver circuit.

Does the test light illuminate?

Yes

- Repair the (E2) Panel Lamps Driver circuit for a short to ground between the BCM and the Radio.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test

No

- Replace and program the Body Control Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test
