24 Driver Door Unlatch Circuit Short To Ground

24-DRIVER DOOR UNLATCH CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND

- When Monitored:
At all times when battery power is supplied to the Body Control Module.

- Set Condition:
When the BCM senses an over current condition on the Driver Door Unlatch Driver circuit for over 125 milliseconds during an unlatch action.





1. DTC PRESENT
1. With the scan tool, record and erase DTCs.
2. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
3. Try to open and close the driver door several times while monitoring the scan tool.

Does the scan tool display 24-DRIVER DOOR UNLATCH CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

2. (P127) DRIVER DOOR UNLATCH DRIVER CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND




1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Body Control Module C4 connector.
3. Measure the resistance between ground and the (P127) Driver Door Unlatch Driver circuit.

Is the resistance below 10,000 ohms?

Yes

- Go To 4

No

- Go To 3

3. (P127) DRIVER DOOR UNLATCH DRIVER CIRCUIT SHORT TO THE (P129) DRIVER DOOR LATCH RETURN CIRCUIT




1. Disconnect the Driver Door Latch Motor connector.
2. Measure the resistance between the (P127) Driver Door Unlatch Driver circuit and the (P129) Driver Door Unlatch Return circuit.

Is the resistance below 10,000 ohms?

Yes

- Go To 5

No

- Replace the Body Control Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

4. (P127) DRIVER DOOR UNLATCH DRIVER WIRE SHORT TO GROUND




1. Disconnect the Driver Door Latch Motor connector.
2. Measure the resistance between ground and the (P127) Driver Door Unlatch Driver circuit.

Is the resistance below 10,000 ohms?

Yes

- (P127) Repair the Driver Door Unlatch Driver wire for a short to ground.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Replace the Door Latch Motor.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

5. (P127) DRIVER DOOR UNLATCH DRIVER WIRE SHORT TO THE (P129) DRIVER DOOR LATCH WIRE




1. Disconnect the Driver Door Latch Motor connector.
2. Measure the resistance between the (P127) Driver Door Unlatch Driver circuit and the (P129) Driver Door Latch return circuit

Is the resistance below 10,000 ohms?

Yes

- Repair the (P127) Driver Door Unlatch Driver wire for a short to the (P129) Driver Door Latch Return wire.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Replace the Door Latch Motor.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
