1A Passenger Door Lock Circuit Short To Ground






1A-PASSENGER DOOR LOCK CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND





For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information Electrical Diagrams

- When Monitored:
At all times when battery power is supplied to the Body Control Module.

- Set Condition:
When the BCM senses voltage on the passenger door switch mux circuit below 0.7 volts for over 10 seconds.





1. DTC PRESENT
1. When this code is present, the VTSS indicator will stay on solid during the arming process.
2. With the scan tool, record and erase DTCs.
3. Cycle the ignition switch from ON to OFF to ON.
4. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
5. Lower the passenger door window.
6. Remove the key and operate all the passenger door switches several times while monitoring the scan tool.
7. Wait 10 seconds.

Does the scan tool display 1A-PASSENGER DOOR LOCK CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

2. (P96) PASSENGER DOOR SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND




1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Body Control Module C2 and C3 connectors.
3. Measure the resistance between ground and the (P96) Passenger Door Switch Mux circuit in the BCM C3 connector.

Is the resistance below 300.0 ohms?

Yes

- Repair the (P96) Passenger Door Switch Mux circuit for a short to ground
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Go To 3

3. (P96) PASSENGER DOOR SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORT TO (P900) PASSENGER DOOR SWITCH RETURN




1. Measure the resistance between the (P96) Passenger Door Switch Mux circuit and the (P900) Passenger Door Switch Return circuits in the BCM C2 and C3 connectors.

Is the resistance below 200.0 ohms?

Yes

- Go To 4

No

- Replace the Body Control Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

4. PASSENGER DOOR LOCK SWITCH SHORT TO GROUND




1. Disconnect the Passenger Door Lock Switch connector.
2. Measure the resistance between the (P96) Passenger Door Switch Mux circuit and the (P900) Passenger Door Switch Return circuit in the BCM C2 and C3 connectors.

Is the resistance below 200 ohms?

Yes

- Go To 5

No

- Replace the Passenger Door Lock Switch.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

5. PASSENGER INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE SWITCH SHORT TO GROUND




1. Disconnect the Passenger Interior Door Handle Switch connector.
2. Measure the resistance between the (P96) Passenger Door Switch Mux circuit and the (P900) Passenger Door Switch Return circuit in the BCM C2 and C3 connectors.

Is the resistance below 200 ohms?

Yes

- Go To 6

No

- Replace the Passenger Interior Door Handle Switch.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

6. PASSENGER EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE SWITCH SHORT TO GROUND




1. Disconnect the Passenger Exterior Door Handle Switch connector.
2. Measure the resistance between the (P96) Passenger Door Switch Mux circuit and the (P900) Passenger Door Switch Return circuit in the BCM C2 and C3 connectors.

Is the resistance below 200 ohms?

Yes

- Repair the (P96) Passenger Door Switch Mux wire for a short to the (P900) Passenger Door Switch Return wire.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Replace the Passenger Exterior Door Handle Switch.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
