Engine Torque Specifications






TORQUE

TORQUE CHART 5.7L ENGINE









CYLINDER HEAD






Tighten the cylinder head bolts 1 through 10 to 34 Nm (25 ft. lbs.) using the sequence shown.
Tighten the cylinder head bolts 11 through 15 to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.) using the sequence shown.
Tighten the cylinder head bolts 1 through 10 to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.) using the sequence shown.
Tighten the cylinder head bolts 11 through 15 to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.) using the sequence shown.
Rotate the cylinder head bolts 1 through 10 90° using the sequence shown.
Tighten the cylinder head bolts 11 through 15 to 34 Nm (25 ft. lbs.) using the sequence shown.

INTAKE MANIFOLD





Intake manifold bolts (with thread lock patch) and tighten to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.) in the sequence shown.

MAIN BEARING CAP





NOTE: The main cap cross-bolts are torqued after final torque of the main cap bolts. Always use a new washer/seal on cross bolts.

Tighten main bearing cap bolts to 13 Nm ( 10 ft. lbs.) in the sequence shown.
Tighten main bearing cap bolts to 27 Nm ( 20 ft. lbs.) in the sequence shown.
Rotate main cap bolts an additional 90° in the sequence shown.





Install the cross bolts with new seal washer. Starting with cross-bolt A,
Tighten cross bolt to 28 Nm ( 21 ft. lbs.).
Repeat cross bolt tightening procedure
