B1040-PANEL MODE DOOR 1 CONTROL CIRCUIT/PERFORMANCE

Theory of Operation
The A/C Heater Control drives the Mode Door Actuator via the (C35) Mode Door Driver circuit and the (C807) Common Door Driver 2 circuit. The Mode Door 1 Actuator shares the (C807) Common Door Driver 2 circuit with the (C33) Passenger Blend Door Actuator circuit, the (C61) Driver Blend Door Actuator circuit, and the (C32) Recirculation Door Actuator circuit.
- When Monitored:
With the ignition on.
- Set Condition:
If the A/C Heater Control detects a short on the (C35) Mode Door Driver circuit or the (C807) Common Door Driver 2 circuit while attempting to drive this actuator.
1. CHECK (C35) MODE DOOR DRIVER CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the A/C Heater Control C1 harness connector.
3. Turn the ignition on.
4. Measure the voltage of the (C35) Mode Door Driver circuit in the A/C Heater Control C1 harness connector.
Is the voltage above 0.2 of a volt?
Yes
- Repair the (C35) Mode Door 1 Driver circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform the HVAC VERIFICATION TEST. HVAC Verification Test.
No
- Go To 2
2. CHECK (C61) DRIVER BLEND DOOR ACTUATOR CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
1. Measure the voltage between ground and the (C61) Driver Blend Door Actuator circuit in the A/C Heater Control C1 harness connector.
Is the voltage above 0.2 of a volt?
Yes
- Repair the (C61) Driver Blend Door Actuator circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform the HVAC VERIFICATION TEST. HVAC Verification Test.
No
- Go To 8
3. CHECK (C32) RECIRCULATION DOOR ACTUATOR CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
1. Measure the voltage between ground and the (C32) Recirculation Door Actuator circuit in the A/C Heater Control C1 harness connector.
Is the voltage above 0.2 of a volt?
Yes
- Repair the (C32) Recirculation Door Actuator circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform the HVAC VERIFICATION TEST. HVAC Verification Test.
No
- Go To 9
4. CHECK (C33) PASSENGER BLEND DOOR ACTUATOR CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
1. Measure the voltage between ground and the (C33) Passenger Blend Door Actuator circuit in the A/C Heater Control C1 harness connector.
Is the voltage above 0.2 of a volt?
Yes
- Repair the (C33) Passenger Blend Door Actuator circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform the HVAC VERIFICATION TEST. HVAC Verification Test.
No
- Go To 5
5. CHECK (C807) COMMON DOOR DRIVER 2 CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
1. Measure the voltage between ground and the (C807) Common Door Driver 2 circuit in the A/C Heater Control C1 harness connector.
Is the voltage above 0.2 of a volt?
Yes
- Repair the (C807) Common Door Driver 2 circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform the HVAC VERIFICATION TEST. HVAC Verification Test.
No
- Go To 6
6. CHECK (C35) MODE DOOR 1 DRIVER CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Measure the resistance between ground and the (C35) Mode Door Driver circuit in the A/C Heater Control C1 harness connector.
Is the resistance below 10k Ohms?
Yes
- Repair the (C35) Mode Door Driver circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform the HVAC VERIFICATION TEST. HVAC Verification Test.
No
- Go To 7
7. CHECK (C61) DRIVER BLEND DOOR ACTUATOR CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
1. Measure the resistance between ground and the (C61) Driver Blend Door Actuator circuit in the A/C Heater Control C1 harness connector.
Is the resistance below 10K Ohms?
Yes
- Repair the (C61) Driver Blend Door Actuator circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform the HVAC VERIFICATION TEST. HVAC Verification Test.
No
- Go To 8
8. CHECK (C32) RECIRCULATION DOOR ACTUATOR CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
1. Measure the resistance between ground and the (C32) Recirculation Door Actuator circuit in the A/C Heater Control C1 harness connector.
Is the resistance below 10K Ohms?
Yes
- Repair the (C32) Recirculation Door Actuator circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform the HVAC VERIFICATION TEST. HVAC Verification Test.
No
- Go To 9
9. CHECK (C33) PASSENGER BLEND DOOR ACTUATOR CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
1. Measure the resistance between ground and the (C33) Passenger Blend Door Actuator circuit in the A/C Heater Control C1 harness connector.
Is the resistance below 10K Ohms?
Yes
- Repair the (C33) Passenger Blend Door Actuator circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform the HVAC VERIFICATION TEST. HVAC Verification Test.
No
- Go To 10
10. CHECK (C807) COMMON DOOR DRIVER 2 CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
1. Measure the resistance between ground and the (C807) Common Door Driver 2 circuit in the A/C Heater Control C1 harness connector.
Is the resistance below 10k Ohms?
Yes
- Repair the (C807) Common Door Driver 2 circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform the HVAC VERIFICATION TEST. HVAC Verification Test.
No
- Go To 11
11. CHECK (C35) MODE DOOR DRIVER CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO OTHER DOOR DRIVER CIRCUITS
1. Measure the resistance between the (C35) Mode Door Driver circuit and the (C807) Common Door Driver 2 circuit, the (C32) Recirculation Door Driver circuit, the (C33) Passenger Blend Door Driver circuit, and the (C61) Driver Blend Door Driver circuit in the A/C Heater Control C1 harness connector.
Is the resistance below 100 Ohms between the (C35) Mode Door 1 Driver circuit and any of the other door driver circuits?
Yes
- Repair the circuit(s) with a resistance below 100 Ohms for a short to the (C35) Mode Door Driver circuit.
- Perform the HVAC VERIFICATION TEST. HVAC Verification Test.
No
- Go To 12
12. CHECK MODE DOOR ACTUATOR CIRCUIT RESISTANCE
1. Measure the resistance between the (C35) Mode Door Driver circuit and the (C807) Common Door Driver 2 circuit in the A/C Heater Control C1 harness connector.
Is the resistance between 30 and 40 Ohms?
Yes
- Go To 13
No
- Replace the Mode Door Actuator.
- Perform the HVAC ACTUATOR CALIBRATION PROCEDURE. HVAC Actuator Calibration Procedure.
13. CHECK PASSENGER BLEND DOOR ACTUATOR CIRCUIT RESISTANCE
1. Measure the resistance between the (C33) Passenger Blend Door Driver circuit and the (C807) Common Door Driver 2 circuit in the A/C Heater Control C1 harness connector.
Is the resistance between 30 and 40 Ohms?
Yes
- Go To 14
No
- Replace the Passenger Blend Door Actuator.
- Perform the HVAC ACTUATOR CALIBRATION PROCEDURE. HVAC Actuator Calibration Procedure.
14. CHECK DRIVER BLEND DOOR ACTUATOR CIRCUIT RESISTANCE
1. Measure the resistance between the (C61) Driver Blend Door Driver circuit and the (C807) Common Door Driver 2 circuit in the A/C Heater Control C1 harness connector.
Is the resistance between 30 and 40 Ohms?
Yes
- Go To 15
No
- Replace the Driver Blend Door Actuator.
- Perform the HVAC ACTUATOR CALIBRATION PROCEDURE. HVAC Actuator Calibration Procedure.
15. CHECK RECIRCULATION DOOR ACTUATOR CIRCUIT RESISTANCE
1. Measure the resistance between the (C32) Recirculation Door Driver circuit and the (C807) Common Door Driver 2 circuit in the A/C Heater Control C1 harness connector.
Is the resistance between 30 and 40 Ohms?
Yes
- Replace the A/C Heater Control.
- Perform the HVAC ACTUATOR CALIBRATION PROCEDURE. HVAC Actuator Calibration Procedure.
No
- Replace the Recirculation Door Actuator.
- Perform the HVAC ACTUATOR CALIBRATION PROCEDURE. HVAC Actuator Calibration Procedure.
