Driver Window Inoperative

Diagnostic Test

1. DTC PRESENT
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
Cycle the ignition switch from Off to Run.
With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Are there any POWER WINDOW related trouble codes present?

Yes

- Diagnose and repair the DTC(s).

No

- Go To 2

2. MOTOR OPEN




Gain access to and disconnect the Driver Power Window Motor connector
Turn the ignition on.
Using a 12-volt test light connect one end to the (Q21) Driver Window Down Driver and the other end to the (Q11) Driver Window Up Driver in the harness connector.
With the scan tool, actuate the DRV WINDOW DN and then the DRV WINDOW UP.
Did the test light illuminate brightly when the window motor was actuated in both directions?

Yes

- Replace the Power Window Motor.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

No

- Go To 3

3. (Q11) DRIVER WINDOW UP DRIVER WIRE OPEN




Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Body Control Module C4 connector.
Measure the resistance of the (Q11) Driver Window Up Driver circuit between the BCM C4 connector and the Window Motor connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?

Yes

- Go To 4

No

- Repair the (Q11) Driver Window Up Driver circuit for an open.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

4. (Q21) DRIVER WINDOW DOWN DRIVER WIRE OPEN




Measure the resistance of the (Q21) Driver Window Down Driver circuit between the BCM C4 connector and the Window Motor connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?

Yes

- Go To 5

No

- Repair the (Q21) Driver Window Down Driver circuit for an open.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

5. (Q11) DRIVER WINDOW UP DRIVER WIRE SHORT TO THE (Q21) DRIVER WINDOW DOWN DRIVER WIRE




Measure the resistance between the (Q11) Driver Window Up Driver circuit and the (Q21) Driver Window Down Driver circuit in the motor connector.
Is the resistance below 10,000.0 ohms?

Yes

- Repair the (Q11) Driver Window Up Driver circuit for a short to the (Q21) Driver Window Down Driver circuit.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

No

- Test Complete.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
