Rear Wheel Speed Sensor - Removal







REMOVAL

NOTE: Before proceeding, review Warnings and Cautions.Brakes - Caution

1. Raise and support vehicle. Maintenance.
2. Remove wheel and tire assembly. Tires and Wheels - Removal
3. Disconnect vehicle wiring harness from wheel speed sensor wiring connector at frame rail.
4. Remove fastener clip securing sensor connector to frame rail.
5. Open routing clips along parking brake cable and remove sensor harness.




6. Remove bolt (1) fastening sensor head (2) to knuckle.

CAUTION: When removing a wheel speed sensor from the knuckle, do not use pliers on the sensor head. This may damage the sensor head. If the sensor has seized, use a hammer and a punch to tap the edge of the sensor head ear, rocking the sensor side-to-side until free.

7. Carefully remove sensor head (2) from knuckle.
