Seat Belt Retractor - Removal

REMOVAL





1. Fold convertible top down.
2. Adjust seat to the farthest forward position.
3. Remove lower seat belt anchor bolt (2).




4. Using a trim stick or equivalent, gently pry up on the sill plate and remove from vehicle.
5. Using a trim stick or equivalent, pry out rubber plugs at sport hoop.
6. Remove the two bolts attaching the sport hoop to rear bulkhead.
7. Remove sport hoop from vehicle.
8. Remove three screws retaining the rear bulkhead panel. One screw located at console and two screws located at door edge.
9. Pull edge of panel out far enough to place a block (2 X 4) between it and the rear bulkhead.
10. Move carpet out of the way to access seat belt and retractor.
11. Disconnect the electrical connector (2 and 4) at the retractor (3).




12. Remove two bolts (1) to seat belt retractor.




13. Fish seat belt through turning loop (2) and remove.
14. Remove seat belt and retractor assembly from vehicle.
