The Viper Coupe's Center High Mounted Stop Lamp (CHMSL) has no serviceable bulb. If the lamp does not function properly, the CHMSL assembly must be replaced.





1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Open liftgate.
3. Remove the screw (1) holding the CHMSL (2) to the liftgate.




4. Release red locking tab and disengage the CHMSL wire connector (1) from the liftgate wiring harness.
5. Gently pry the connector push pins from the liftgate.
6. Separate the CHMSL from the vehicle.
