Draining Cooling System
DRAINING COOLING SYSTEM
WARNING: Do not remove engine block drain plugs, coolant pressure bottle cap, or open the radiator draincock, when the cooling system is hot and under pressure because serious burns from coolant can occur.
When servicing the cooling system, it is essential that coolant does not drip onto the accessory drive belt and/or pulleys. Shield the belt with shop towels before working on the cooling system. If coolant contacts the belt or pulley, flush both with clean water.
1. Remove coolant bottle pressure cap.
2. Raise vehicle on hoist.
NOTE: For access to radiator draincock, it is necessary to remove the front extension belly pan Belly Pan - Removal.
3. Open radiator draincock located at the lower left side of radiator.
4. Remove the engine block drain plug(s).
