Restraints System Verification Test

*RESTRAINTS SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST

Diagnostic Test

1. Remove any special tools or jumper wires and reconnect all previously disconnected components - except the Battery.

WARNING: To avoid serious or fatal injury, turn the ignition on, then reconnect the battery

2. Connect the scan tool to the Data Link Connector - use the most current software available.
3. With the scan tool, erase stored DTC in all airbag system modules.
4. Turn the ignition off, and wait 15 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
5. Note: If equipped with an Airbag On - Off switch, read the DTC in all switch positions.
6. Exercise the Restraints System to duplicate the appropriate monitor conditions for any DTC that were set
7. Wait one minute, and read OCM and ORC active codes, if there are none present, read the stored codes.
8. If the scan tool shows any OCM and ORC active or stored codes, follow the path specified for that trouble code. If no active or stored codes are present, the repair is complete.
Are any DTC present or, is the original condition still present?

Yes

- Refer to the appropriate DTC procedure or symptom diagnostic. Restraint System

No

- Repair is complete.
