Tire Pressure Monitor Module Failure

TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR MODULE FAILURE - TPM

For a complete wiring diagram Consult Diagrams/Electrical

- When Monitored:
Ignition ON. Vehicles speed over 33Km/h (20 mph). Every 60-68 seconds.

- Set Condition:
When the TPM Module does not receive a transmission from one or more Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitters while the Low Tire Pressure Signal circuit returns to low for more then three seconds. (Receiver failure in TPM Module and TPM Diagnostic fault in BCM.)

Diagnostic Test

1. NO SENSOR/TRANSMITTERS INSTALLED
Turn the ignition off.
Inspect all four vehicle wheels for the Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitters being present using the Miller tool 9001 RF detector.
Do all wheels have Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitters transmitting?

Yes

- Go To2

No

- Replace and program the Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitter.
- Perform TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) Verification Test

2. TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR/TRANSMITTERS NOT PROGRAMMED
Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIII(R) and special tool 8192, program the Tire Pressure Monitor Module for all four Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitters.
Without the DRBIII(R) connected, road test the vehicle above 33 Km/h (20 mph) for at least ten minutes.
With the DRBIII(R), read the last 32 transmissions received by the Tire Pressure Monitor Module.
Does the DRBIII(R) display any of the Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitter ID's in the last 32 transmission

Yes

- Repair is complete.
- Perform TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) Verification Test

No

- Replace and program the Tire Pressure Monitor Module.
- Perform TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) Verification Test
