TPM Module Initialized - BCM

TPM MODULE INITIALIZED - BCM

For a complete wiring diagram Consult Diagrams/Electrical

- When Monitored:
Ignition OFF to ON transition.

- Set Condition:
When the BCM input from the TPM Module does not go low for 1.75 to 3 seconds after ignition switch is ON.

Diagnostic Test

1. TPM DIAGNOSTIC CONDITION PRESENT
Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIII(R), read BCM and TPM Module DTCs.
Does the DRBIII(R) display TPM DIAGNOSTIC?

Yes

- Go To2

No

- Go To9

2. (G5) FUSED IGNITION SWITCH OUTPUT (RUN/START) CIRCUIT FOR VOLTAGE

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the TPM Module harness connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Using a 12-volt test light check the (G5) Fused Ignition Switch Output (Run/Start) circuit in the TPM Module harness connector.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?

Yes

- Go To4

No

- Go To3

3. (G5) FUSED IGNITION SWITCH OUTPUT (RUN/START) CIRCUIT OPEN

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the BPM C4 harness connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Measure the resistance of the (G5) Fused Ignition Switch Output (Run/Start) circuit between the TPM harness connector and the BCM C4 harness connector.
Is the resistance less than 10 ohms?

Yes

- Replace and program the BCM Module.
- Perform TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) Verification Test

No

- Repair the Fused Ignition Switch Output (Run/Start) circuit for an open.
- Perform TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) Verification Test

4. (Z943) GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN

Turn the ignition off.
Using a 12-volt test light connected to 12-volts, check the (Z943) Ground circuit in the TPM Module harness connector.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?

Yes

- Go To5

No

- Repair the (Z943) ground circuit for an open.
- Perform TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) Verification Test

5. (G94) LOW TIRE PRESSURE SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORT TO VOLTAGE

Disconnect the BCM C3 harness connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Measure the voltage between (G94) Low Tire Pressure Signal circuit in the TPM harness connector and ground.
Is there any voltage present?

Yes

- Repair the Low Tire Pressure Signal circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) Verification Test

No

- Go To6

6. (G94) LOW TIRE PRESSURE SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND

Turn the ignition off.
Using a 12-volt test light connected to 12-volts, check the Low Tire Pressure Signal circuit.
Does the test light illuminate?

Yes

- Repair the Low Tire Pressure Signal circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) Verification Test

No

- Go To7

7. (G94) LOW TIRE PRESSURE SIGNAL CIRCUIT OPEN

Measure the resistance of the Low Tire Pressure Signal circuit between the BCM connector and the TPM Module connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?

Yes

- Go To8

No

- Repair the Low Tire Pressure Signal circuit for an open.
- Perform TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) Verification Test

8. TPM MODULE INTERNAL FAILURE
Turn the ignition on.
Measure the voltage of the Low Tire Pressure Signal circuit in the TPM Module connector.
Is there any voltage present?

Yes

- Replace and program the TPM Module.
- Perform TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) Verification Test

No

- Replace and program the BCM Module.
- Perform TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) Verification Test

9. INTERMITTENT CONDITION
Turn the ignition off.
Visually inspect the related wiring harness. Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched, or partially broken wires.
Visually inspect the related wire harness connectors. Look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded terminals.
Refer to any Hotline letters or Technical Service Bulletins that may apply.
Were any problems found?

Yes

- Repair as necessary.
- Perform TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) Verification Test

No

- Test Complete.
