Diagnostic Test
1. AIR PRESSURE LEAK
Turn the ignition off.
NOTE: If there are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC's) set, the DTC must be repaired for the result of this test to be valid.
Inspect tire(s) for any signs of leak(s). Check for any foreign objects in the tread or sidewall, or curb damage, or wheel damage, leaking valve stem, rim leak(s), etc.
Were any air leaks found in the tire?
Yes
- Repair the cause of the air pressure leak.
- Perform TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) Verification Test
No
- Go To2
2. LOW TIRE PRESSURE/CRITICAL TIRE PRESSURE
Turn the ignition off.
With an accurate air pressure gauge, manually check the air pressure of all four tires for proper air inflation.
Are the tire(s) at the recommended air inflation pressure?
Yes
- Go To3
No
- Adjust the tire(s) air pressure to the recommended pressure.
- Perform TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) Verification Test
3. TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR/TRANSMITTER PLUGGED
Turn the ignition on.
Drive the vehicle above 33 Km/h (20 Mph) for at least two minutes with the DRBIII(R) disconnected.
With the DRBIII(R), read the most recent transmission from each tire. Look for a tire pressure reading that is below the tire pressure threshold(s). (23 psi for low and 18 psi for critical)
Does the DRBIII(R) indicate any tire pressure below the threshold?
Yes
- Replace the Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitter. Remove leak sealant which can plug the air pressure sense hole.
- Perform TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) Verification Test
No
- Replace and program the Tire Pressure Monitor Module.
- Perform TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) Verification Test
