Passenger Seat Track Position Sensor Fault (OCM)
PASSENGER SEAT TRACK POSITION SENSOR FAULT (OCM)
Theory of Operation
When powered, the Occupant Classification Module (OCM) sends a test current to the seat track position sensors to verify the integrity of the sensor and wiring. If a problem is detected the OCM will set an active Passenger Seat Track Position Sensor trouble code and broadcast a BUS message to the ORC. Based on this BUS message the ORC will set the PASSENGER SEAT TRACK POSITION SENSOR FAULT (OCM) DTC active until the BUS message from the OCM reports the condition corrected.
- When Monitored:
With the ignition on and Bus communication between the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) and the Occupant Classification Module (OCM).
- Set Condition:
This ORC DTC will set active when the ORC receives a Bus status message from the OCM containing an active Passenger Seat Track Sensor DTC present message.
Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. Restraints System Pre-Diagnostic Procedure.
Diagnostic Test
