58-PASSENGER WINDOW DOWN RELAY COIL OPEN/SHORT TO GROUND

- When Monitored:
Whenever the ignition is in the Run or Accessory position.

- Set Condition:
When the BCM turns on the Passenger Window Down Relay Control circuit and does not detect 8.0 volts or greater within 10 seconds, this code will set.





Diagnostic Test

1. DTC PRESENT
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
Cycle the ignition switch from Off to Run.
Try to operate the Passenger Window Motor several times.
With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display 58-PASSENGER WINDOW DOWN RELAY COIL OPEN/SHORT TO GROUND?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- The condition that caused the code to set is not present at this time. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

2. RELAY OPEN/SHORTED




NOTE: The Passenger Window Down Relay is located left of the steering column and taped to the harness.

Remove the Passenger Window Down Relay.
Install a substitute Relay in place of the Passenger Window Down Relay.
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
Cycle the ignition switch from Off to Run.
Press the Passenger Window Switch DOWN several times.
With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display 58-PASSENGER WINDOW DOWN RELAY OPEN/SHORT TO GROUND?

Yes

- Go To 3

No

- Replace the Window Down Relay.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

3. (A128) FUSED B(+) OPEN




Remove the Passenger Window Down Relay.
Measure the voltage between both of the (A128) Fused B(+) circuits and ground in the relay connector.
Is the voltage above 10.0 volts on both of them?

Yes

- Go To 4

No

- Repair the (A128) Fused B+ circuit(s) for an open.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

4. (Q22) PASSENGER WINDOW DOWN RELAY CONTROL WIRE SHORT TO GROUND




Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the BCM C3 harness connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and the (Q22) Passenger Window Down Relay Control circuit in the BCM C3 connector.
Is the resistance below 10,000.0 ohms?

Yes

- Repair the (Q22) Passenger Window Down Relay Control circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

No

- Go To 5

5. (Q22) PASSENGER WINDOW DOWN RELAY CONTROL WIRE OPEN




Measure the resistance of the (Q22) Passenger Window Down Relay Control circuit between the BCM C3 connector and the Relay connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?

Yes

- Replace the Body Control Module.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

No

- Repair the (Q22) Passenger Window Down Relay Control circuit for an open.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
