23-DRIVER CYLINDER UNLOCK SWITCH STUCK

- When Monitored:
At all times when battery power is supplied to the Body Control Module.

- Set Condition:
When the BCM senses voltage to the cylinder lock switch between 1.3 and 3.25 for over 10 seconds.





Diagnostic Test

1. DTC PRESENT
When this code is present, the VTSS indicator will stay on solid during the arming process.
With the scan tool, record and erase DTC's.
Cycle the ignition switch from ON to OFF to ON.
With the scan tool, read DTC's.
Remove the key and operate the Driver Cylinder Unlock Switch several times while monitoring the scan tool.
Wait 10 seconds.
Does the scan tool display 23-DRIVER CYLINDER UNLOCK SWITCH STUCK?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

2. BODY CONTROL MODULE
With the scan tool in Sensors, read the DRV CYL UNLOCK SW voltage.
Does the scan tool display voltage between 1.3 and 3.25 volts?

Yes

- Go To 3

No

- Replace the Body Control Module.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

3. (P901) DRIVER DOOR SWITCH RETURN OPEN
Disconnect the Driver Cylinder Unlock Switch connector.
Using a 12-volt test light connected to 12-volts, check the (P901) Driver Door Switch Return circuit.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?

Yes

- Go To 4

No

- Repair the (P901) Driver Door Switch Return circuit for an open.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

4. (G163) DRIVER CYLINDER UNLOCK SWITCH MUX PARTIAL SHORT TO GROUND
Measure the voltage between the (G163) Driver Cylinder Unlock Switch Mux circuit and ground.
Is the voltage above 4.9 volts?

Yes

- Replace the Driver Cylinder Unlock Switch.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

No

- Repair the (G163) Driver Cylinder Unlock Switch Mux circuit for a partial short to ground.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
