22-DRIVER CYLINDER UNLOCK SWITCH SHORT TO GROUND

- When Monitored:
At all times when battery power is supplied to the Body Control Module.

- Set Condition:
When the BCM senses voltage to the cylinder lock switch below.5 volts for over 10 seconds.





Diagnostic Test

1. DTC PRESENT
When this code is present, the VTSS indicator will stay on solid during the arming process.
With the scan tool, record and erase DTC's.
Cycle the ignition switch from ON to OFF to ON.
With the scan tool, read DTC's.
Remove the key and operate the Driver Cylinder Unlock Switch several times while monitoring the scan tool.
Wait 10 seconds.
Does the scan tool display 22-DRIVER CYLINDER UNLOCK SWITCH SHORT TO GROUND?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

2. DRIVER CYLINDER UNLOCK SWITCH SHORTED




Disconnect the Driver Cylinder Unlock Switch connector.
With the scan tool in Sensors, read the DRV CYL UNLK SW MUX circuit
Is the voltage above 4.6 volts?

Yes

- Replace the Driver Cylinder Unlock Switch.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

No

- Go To 3

3. (G163) DRIVER CYLINDER UNLOCK SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORTED




Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Body Control Module C3 and C4 connectors.
Measure the resistance between ground and the (G163) Driver Cylinder Unlock Switch Mux circuit in the BCM C3 connector.
Is the resistance below 10,000.0 ohms?

Yes

- Repair the Driver Cylinder Unlock Switch Mux circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

No

- Go To 4

4. (G163) DRIVER CYLINDER UNLOCK SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORT TO (P901) DRIVER DOOR SWITCH RETURN CIRCUIT




Measure the resistance between the (G163) Driver Cylinder Unlock Switch Mux circuit and the (P901) Driver Door Switch Return circuit in the switch connector.
Is the resistance below 10,000.0 ohms?

Yes

- Repair the Driver Cylinder Unlock Switch Mux circuit for a short to the (P901) Driver Door Switch Return circuit.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

No

- Replace the Body Control Module.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
