21-DRIVER CYLINDER UNLOCK SWITCH OPEN OR SHORT TO VOLTAGE

- When Monitored:
At all times when battery power is supplied to the Body Control Module.

- Set Condition:
When the BCM senses voltage to the cylinder lock switch above 4.6 volts for over 10 seconds.





Diagnostic Test

1. DTC PRESENT
When this code is present, the VTSS indicator will illuminate solid during the arming process.
With the scan tool, record and erase DTC's.
Cycle the ignition switch from ON to OFF to ON.
With the scan tool, read DTC's.
Remove the key and operate the Driver Cylinder Lock Switch several times while monitoring the scan tool.
Wait 10 seconds.
Does the scan tool display 21-DRIVER CYLINDER UNLOCK SWITCH OPEN/SHORT TO VOLTAGE?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

2. (P901) DRIVER DOOR SWITCH RETURN OPEN




Disconnect the Driver Cylinder Unlock Switch connector.
Using a 12-volt test light connected to 12-volts, check the (P901) Driver Door Switch Return circuit.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?

Yes

- Go To 3

No

- Repair the (P901) Driver Door Switch Return circuit for an open.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

3. (G163) DRIVER CYLINDER UNLOCK SWITCH MUX OPEN




Measure the voltage between ground and the (G163) Driver Cylinder Unlock Switch Mux circuit.
Select the voltage present.

Below 4.0 volts.

- Go To 5

Between 4.1 volts and 5.2 volts.

- Replace the Cylinder Unlock Switch.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

Above 5.3 volts.

- Go To 4

4. (G163) DRIVER CYLINDER UNLOCK SWITCH MUX SHORT TO VOLTAGE




Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Body Control Module C3 connector.

NOTE: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.

Turn the ignition on.
Turn the park lamps on.
Measure the voltage between the (G163) Driver Cylinder Unlock Switch Mux circuit and ground.
Is there any voltage present?

Yes

- Repair the (G163) Driver Cylinder Unlock Switch Mux circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

No

- Replace the Body Control Module.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

5. (G163) DRIVER CYLINDER UNLOCK SWITCH MUX WIRE OPEN




Turn the ignition off.
Measure the resistance of the (G163) Driver Cylinder Unlock Switch Mux circuit between the switch connector and the BCM C3 connector.
Is the resistance below 2.0 ohms?

No

- Repair the (G163) Driver Cylinder Unlock Switch Mux circuit for an open.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

Yes

- Replace the Body Control Module.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
