1F-PASSENGER INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE SWITCH STUCK

For a complete wiring diagram Consult Diagrams/Electrical

- When Monitored:
At all times when battery power is supplied to the Body Control Module.

- Set Condition:
When the BCM senses a passenger interior door handle switch input on the Passenger Door Switch Mux circuit for over 10 seconds, this code will set.

Diagnostic Test

1. DTC PRESENT
When this code is present, the VTSS indicator will stay on solid during the arming process.
With the scan tool, record and erase DTC's.
Cycle the ignition switch from ON to OFF to ON.
With the scan tool, read DTC's.
Lower the driver door window.
Remove the key and operate the Passenger Interior Door Handle Switch several times while monitoring the scan tool.
Wait 10 seconds.
Does the scan tool display 1f-PASSENGER INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE SWITCH STUCK?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- Check the switch for a binding condition and replace if necessary. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

2. PASSENGER INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE SWITCH SHORTED

Disconnect the Passenger Interior Door Handle Switch connector.
With the scan tool in Sensors, read the PASS DOOR ENTRY voltage.
Is the voltage above 4.75 volts?

Yes

- Replace the Passenger Interior Door Handle Switch.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

No

- Go To 3

3. (P96) PASSENGER DOOR SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Body Control Module C2 and C3 connectors.
Measure the resistance between ground and the (P96) Passenger Door Switch Mux circuit in the BCM C3 connector.
Is the resistance below 10000.0 (10K) ohms?

Yes

- Repair the (P96) Passenger Door Switch Mux circuit for a partial short to ground
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

No

- Go To 4

4. (P96) PASSENGER DOOR SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORT TO (P900) PASSENGER DOOR SWITCH RETURN

Measure the resistance between the (P96) Passenger Door Switch Mux circuit and the (P900) Passenger Door Switch Return circuits in the BCM C2 and C3 connectors.
Is the resistance below 10,000.0 (10K) ohms?

Yes

- Repair the (P96) Passenger Door Switch Mux circuit for a partial short to the (P900) Passenger Door Switch Return circuit.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

No

- Replace the Body Control Module.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
