1D-DRIVER INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE SWITCH STUCK
For a complete wiring diagram Consult Diagrams/Electrical
- When Monitored:
At all times when battery power is supplied to the Body Control Module.
- Set Condition:
When the BCM senses a driver interior door handle switch input on the Driver Door Switch Mux circuit for over 10 seconds, this code will set.
Diagnostic Test
1. DTC PRESENT
When this code is present, the VTSS indicator will stay on solid during the arming process.
With the scan tool, record and erase DTC's.
Cycle the ignition switch from ON to OFF to ON.
With the scan tool, read DTC's.
Lower the driver door window.
Remove the key and operate the Driver Interior Door Handle Switch several times while monitoring the scan tool.
Wait 10 seconds.
Does the DRBIII(R) display DRIVER INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE SWITCH STUCK?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Check the switch for a binding condition and replace if necessary. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
2. DRIVER INTERNAL DOOR HANDLE SWITCH SHORTED
Disconnect the Driver Interior Door Handle Switch connector.
With the scan tool in Sensors, read the DRV DOOR ENTRY voltage.
Is the voltage above 4.75 volts?
Yes
- Replace the Driver Interior Door Handle Switch.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
No
- Go To 3
3. (P97) DRIVER DOOR SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Body Control Module C3 and C4 connectors.
Measure the resistance between ground and the (P97) Driver Door Switch Mux circuit in the BCM C3 connector.
Is the resistance below 10,000.0 (10K) ohms?
Yes
- Repair the (P97) Driver Door Switch Mux circuit for a partial short to ground
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
No
- Go To 4
4. (P97) DRIVER DOOR SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORT TO (P901) DRIVER DOOR SWITCH RETURN
Measure the resistance between the (P97) Driver Door Switch Mux circuit and the (P901) Driver Door Switch Return circuits in the BCM C3 and C4 connectors.
Is the resistance below 10,000.0 (10K) ohms?
Yes
- Repair the (P97) Driver Door Switch Mux circuit for a partial short to the (P901) Driver Door Switch Return circuit.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
No
- Replace the Body Control Module.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
