19-DRIVER DOOR LOCK CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND

- When Monitored:
At all times when battery power is supplied to the Body Control Module.

- Set Condition:
When the BCM senses voltage on the driver door switch mux circuit below 0.7 volts for over 10 seconds.





Diagnostic Test

1. DTC PRESENT
When this code is present, the VTSS indicator will stay on solid during the arming process.
With the scan tool, record and erase DTC's.
Cycle the ignition switch from ON to OFF to ON.
With the scan tool, read DTC's.
Lower the driver door window.
Remove the ignition key and operate the driver door switch several times while monitoring the scan tool.
Wait 10 seconds.
Does the scan tool display 19-DRIVER DOOR LOCK CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND?

Yes

- Go To2

No

- Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

2. (P97) DRIVER DOOR SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND




Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Body Control Module C3 and C4 connectors.
Measure the resistance between ground and the (P97) Driver Door Switch Mux circuit in the BCM C3 connector.
Is the resistance below 300.0 ohms?

Yes

- Repair the (P97) Driver Door Switch Mux circuit for a short to ground
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

No

- Go To 3

3. (P97) DRIVER DOOR SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORT TO (P901) DRIVER DOOR SWITCH RETURN CIRCUIT




Measure the resistance between the (P97) Driver Door Switch Mux circuit and the (P901) Driver Door Switch Return circuits in the BCM C3 and C4 connectors.
Is the resistance below 200.0 ohms?

Yes

- Go To 4

No

- Replace the Body Control Module.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

4. DRIVER DOOR LOCK SWITCH SHORT TO GROUND




Disconnect the Driver Door Lock Switch connector.
Measure the resistance between the (P97) Driver Door Switch Mux circuit and the (P901) Driver Door Switch Return circuit in the BCM C3 and C4 connectors.
Is the resistance below 200 ohms?

Yes

- Go To 5

No

- Replace the Driver Door Lock Switch.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

5. DRIVER INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE SWITCH SHORT TO GROUND




Disconnect the Driver Interior Door Handle Switch connector.
Measure the resistance between the (P97) Driver Door Switch Mux circuit and the (P901) Driver Door Switch Return circuit in the BCM C3 and C4 connectors.
Is the resistance below 200 ohms?

Yes

- Repair the (P97) Driver Door Switch Mux wire for a short to the (P901) Driver Door Switch Return wire.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

No

- Replace the Driver Interior Door Handle Switch.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
