TX FAILURE (ACTIVE)

- When Monitored:
When the ignition is on.
- Set Condition:
This DTC will set if the A/C - Heater Control Module is unable to send a PCI Bus message.
Diagnostic Test
1. ATTEMPT TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE HVAC MODULE
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, attempt to communicate with the HVAC Module.
Was the scan tool able to I/D or communicate with the HVAC Module?
Yes
- Go To2
No
- Refer to the Manufacturer Trouble Codes/Communication for the related procedure(s).
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
2. CHECK FOR ADDITIONAL HVAC DTCS
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, read HVAC DTCs.
Does the scan tool display additional HVAC DTCs?
Yes
- Diagnose and repair the DTC(s).
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
No
- Go To3
3. ATTEMPT TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE PCM AND BCM
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, attempt to communicate with the PCM.
With the scan tool, attempt to communicate with the BCM.
Was the scan tool able to I/D or communicate with the PCM and the BCM?
Yes
- Go To4
No
- Refer to Manufacturer Trouble Codes/Communications for the related procedure(s).
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
4. A/C - HEATER CONTROL MODULE
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, erase HVAC DTCs.
Cycle the ignition switch and wait approximately 1 minute.
With the scan tool, read HVAC DTC's.
Did this DTC reset?
Yes
- Replace the A/C - Heater Control Module.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
No
- Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors to help isolate a possible intermittent wiring condition.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
