B1B92-PASSENGER SEAT TRACK POSITION SENSOR CIRCUIT PERFORMANCE

Theory of Operation
When powered, the CAN bus ignition status is IGN_RUN, and the Occupant Classification Module (OCM) is configured for a Passenger Seat Track Position Sensor (STPS), the Occupant Classification Module (OCM) diagnoses the internal and external circuits to verify system performance. The fault occurs when the sensor value read by the OCM is outside the expected range (as specified by calibration) of a working sensor for 500 ms ± 110 ms.
- When Monitored:
While the CAN bus ignition status is IGN_RUN, the OCM monitors the sensor to determine if the sensor is working properly.
- Set Condition:
he fault occurs when the sensor value read by the OCM is between 7 and 12 ma.

Diagnostic Test
1. CHECK FOR ACTIVE SEAT TRACK POSITION SENSOR CODES
NOTE: Ensure the battery is fully charged.
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, read OCM DTC.
NOTE: If B1B93, B1B94, B1B95 or B1B97 Seat Track Position Sensor DTC are active, you must run these tests before continuing.
Does the scan tool display any active: B1B93, B1B94, B1B95 or B1B97 Seat Track Position Sensor codes?
Yes
- Diagnose and repair the DTC. Restraint System
No
- Go To 2
2. VERIFY THAT PASSENGER SENSOR
Does the scan tool display active: B1B92-PASSENGER SEAT TRACK POSITION SENSOR CIRCUIT PERFORMANCE?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Perform *RESTRAINTS SYSTEM INTERMITTENT TEST. Restraints System Intermittent Test
3. PERFORM SEAT TRACK POSITION SENSOR PERFORMANCE TEST
With the scan tool monitor the Passenger Seat Track Position Sensor state.
While observing the scan tool display, move the Passenger Seat to the full forward position and then to the full rearward position.
Does the Passenger Seat Track Position Sensor change state when the seat is moved?
Yes
WARNING: If the Occupant Classification Module (OCM) is dropped at any time, it must be replaced. Failure to take the proper precautions can result in accidental airbag deployment and serious or fatal injury.
WARNING: To avoid serious or fatal injury, turn the ignition off, disconnect the battery and wait two minutes before proceeding.
CAUTION: Disconnecting or connecting the OCM connectors with the battery connected will permanently damage the OCM.
- Replace the OCM.
- Perform the *OCM REZERO. Restraint System
No
WARNING: To avoid serious or fatal injury, turn the ignition off, disconnect the battery and wait two minutes before proceeding.
- Replace the Passenger Seat Track Position Sensor.
- Perform *RESTRAINTS SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Verification Tests
- If the B1B8C-DRIVER SEAT TRACK POSITION SENSOR CIRCUIT PERFORMANCE DTC returns active:
