SUBJECT:
Decklid Spoiler Fit

OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves removing and installing the decklid spoiler.

MODELS:

2008 (LC) Challenger - SRT8

NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicles built before June 6, 2008 (MDHO6O6XX).

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Some SRT8 decklid spoilers may have a gap between the deck lid and spoiler due to incomplete wet out of the tape attaching the spoiler to the decklid.

DIAGNOSIS:
Inspect the fit of the spoiler to the decklid, if there is a gap anywhere along the length of the decklid to spoiler interface, perform the repair procedure.





PARTS REQUIRED:

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. Remove the rear spoiler using Trim Stick C-4755.





2. Remove and dispose of the three clips and replace with the new clips included in kit p/n 68055947AA as shown in (fig 1)

3. Wipe the mounting surface of the spoiler with isopropyl alcohol prior to tape installation.

4. Apply 3M 06396 adhesion promoter and/or equivalent to the areas where tape will be applied to the spoiler.

5. Install four pieces of tape from kit p/n 68055947AA as shown in (fig 1)

6. Clean the decklid surface with isopropyl alcohol prior to installation.

7. Reinstall the spoiler

NOTE:
Apply downward pressure to fully engage the new clips and ensure good adhesion between the spoiler and deck lid.
