Receiver Dryer: Service and Repair

RECEIVER/DRIER
The filter/drier is mounted in a rubber grommet on the left side of the engine compartment. The refrigerant must be recovered from the A/C system before replacing the filter/drier assembly.

WARNING: THE REFRIGERATION SYSTEM MUST BE COMPLETELY RECOVERED BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH THIS OPERATION.

REMOVAL
1. Evacuate and recover the refrigerant.
2. Disconnect the suction line bracket
3. Disconnect liquid line from filter/drier.
4. Disconnect liquid line on suction line assembly from filter/drier.
5. Remove the bolt from the expansion valve and remove lines.
6. With vehicle on a lifting devise remove the right front wheel.
7. Remove right front inner fender shield.
8. Pull filter/drier out of rubber grommet from inner fender opening.
9. Remove the filter/drier.

INSTALLATION

NOTE: Replace all a/c line seals from disassembled components. Failure to replace seals could result in a refrigerant leak.

1. Install the filter/drier in the rubber grommet.
2. Install right inner fender.
3. Install right front wheel and lower vehicle on lifting device.
4. Connect the liquid line to the filter/drier.
5. Connect the liquid line on the suction line assembly to the filter/drier.
6. Install suction line bracket.
7. Evacuate the refrigerant system.
8. Recharge the refrigerant system.
