Headlamp Switch: Testing and Inspection

1. Remove headlamp switch. Refer to Electrical, Lamps/Lighting - Exterior, Removal, and Installation and.
2. Using a ohmmeter check headlamp switch. Check for continuity between Pins:
a. Turn switch to the park position and check Pin 3 to Pin 11.
b. Turn switch to the headlamp ON position and check Pin 11 to Pin 12.
c. Pull switch knob to the fog lamp position with the headlamps in the PARK or ON position. Check Pin 8 to Pin 10.
d. With the headlamps in the PARK or ON position, check Pin 7 to Pin 9.

3. If no continuity, replace headlamp switch. If OK, check headlamp relay, circuit and repair as necessary, Refer to the appropriate wiring information. The wiring information includes wiring diagrams, proper wire and connector repair procedures, further details of wire harness routing and retention, connector pin-out information and location views for the various wire harness connectors, splices and grounds.
