Starter Relay Test - II

WARNING: CHECK TO ENSURE THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS IN NEUTRAL WITH THE PARKING BRAKE APPLIED.

1. Verify battery condition. Battery must be in good condition with a full charge before performing any starter tests. Refer to Battery Tests.
2. Perform the preceding starter and solenoid tests BEFORE performing starter relay tests. Refer to Starter and Solenoid Test.
3. Locate and remove the starter relay. The Starter relay is located in the Power Distribution Center (PDC). Refer to PDC cover or the appropriate wiring information. The wiring information includes wiring diagrams, proper wire and connector repair procedures, further details on wire harness routing and retention, as well as pin-out and location views for the various wire harness connectors, splices and grounds.
