Control Assembly: Testing and Inspection
CONTROL MODULEThe control switch and timer circuit may be tested in the vehicle with or without scan tool (DRB III).
If using the scan tool, refer to the proper Body Diagnostic Procedures.
Fig. 6 HVAC Control Module Connectors:
1. Remove the control switch from console and disconnect control switch.
Control Module Test Chart:
2. Using a ohmmeter, check leads between Pins 5 and 8 of the 8-Way connector. Turn the control module to each position shown on the Control Module Test Chart below CONTROL MODULE TEST CHART . The resistance reading should be within the specifications shown. If not OK, replace the control module. If OK, check:
- Blown fuse
- Cut wire
- Poor ground
- Poor connection Defective BCM
- Bulkhead connector inoperative
Refer to the appropriate wiring information. The wiring information includes wiring diagrams, proper wire and connector repair procedures, details of wire harness routing and retention, connector pin-out information and location views for the various wire harness connectors, splices and grounds.
