Liftgate Latch

LIFTGATE LATCH

REMOVAL

1. Release liftgate latch and open liftgate.
2. Remove trunk lining as necessary to access liftgate latch and remote.

3. Remove screw attaching cable assembly to latch and remove cable assembly from latch (Fig. 8).
4. Using a scribe, lightly mark the outline of the latch on trunk pan bracket to assist installation.
5. Remove bolts attaching latch to bracket.
6. Remove latch from vehicle.

INSTALLATION

1. Place latch into position.
2. Loosely install bolts attaching latch to trunk pan bracket.
3. Using previously made marks, align liftgate latch to outline on bracket.
4. Tighten bolts attaching trunk latch to bracket.
5. Install cable assembly to latch.
6. Install trunk lining.
7. Verify liftgate operation. Adjust as necessary.
