Hood: Service and Repair
HOODREMOVAL
1. Release hood latch and open hood.

2. Remove nuts attaching top of hood hinge to hood (Fig. 5) and (Fig. 6).
3. Remove ground strap from mounting stud.
4. Loosen nuts attaching bottom of hood hinge to hood until they can be removed by hand (Fig. 5).
5. With the aid of a helper to support the hood, remove nuts attaching bottom of hood hinge to hood.
6. Lift hood away from vehicle.

7. Remove push pin fasteners attaching heat electro - magnetic interference side shields and remove from hood, if necessary (Fig. 7).
INSTALLATION
1. Install push pin fasteners attaching heat electro - magnetic interference side shields to the hood, if necessary (Fig. 7).
2. Position hood to vehicle (Fig. 6).
3. With the aid of a helper to support the hood, install nuts attaching bottom of hood hinge to hood (Fig. 5).
4. Tighten nuts attaching bottom of hood hinge to hood.
5. Install ground strap to mounting stud.
6. Install nuts attaching top of hood hinge to hood.
7. Verify that the gaps between the hood and adjacent body components conform to the gaps listed in the Specifications section of this group. Adjust as necessary.
8. Verify hood operation. Adjust as necessary.
