Window Opening Molding Appears Discolored or Hazy

DISCUSSION:
The black metal window opening molding used on LH vehicles may discolor. The discoloration appears as a haze on bright silver molding surfaces. A customer may request an approved method of removing the discoloration from and preserving the factory finish of moldings.
This bulletin provides a method approved by DaimlerChrysler.
Apply Mopar Cleaner Wax, pin 04796237, to the affected surfaces with a foam applicator or buffing pad and work thoroughly into the surface.
NOTE:
MOPAR CLEANER WAX MUST BE WELL SHAKEN AND APPLIED IN THE SHADE ON A COOL DRY SURFACE. DO NOT APPLY TO RUBBER OR VINYL SURFACES.
Allow the surface of the molding to dry completely to a haze. Use a clean quality 100% cotton terry-cloth towel to wipe off the residue. Turn to a clean portion of the towel for the final wipe.
