Ignition Coil: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

The system uses two epoxy filled coil packs mounted on a bracket at the rear of the engine. The coil pack on the left side, contains 3 separate coils and fires cylinders 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 7. The coil pack on the right side, contains 2 individual coils and fires cylinders 5, 8, 9, and 10.
1. Remove cowl cover. Refer to the Body.

2. Disconnect electrical connector from coil pack.
3. Remove coil pack mounting screws.
4. Transfer spark plug cables one at a time from original coil pack to the corresponding terminal on the new coil pack.

INSTALLATION
The system uses two epoxy filled coil packs mounted on a bracket at the rear of the engine. The coil pack on the left side, contains 3 separate coils and fires cylinders 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 7. The coil pack on the right side, contains 2 individual coils and fires cylinders 5, 8, 9, and 10.
1. Install coil pack. Tighten mounting screws to 11 Nm (95 in. lbs.) torque.

2. Connect electrical connector to coil pack.
3. Install cowl cover. Refer to the Body.
