Oil Cooler: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1 Raise vehicle on hoist.
2 Cover and protect the front fascia.
3 Working through the fascia opening, remove the lower oil cooler line from cooler.
4 Loosen the left side (driver's side) oil cooler mounting screw (Fig. 57).
5 Remove the right side (passenger side) oil cooler mounting screw (Fig. 57).
6 While supporting the oil cooler with a wrench, loosen and remove the upper oil cooler line.
7 Remove the left side oil cooler mounting screw.
8 Remove the oil cooler through the fascia openings
INSTALLATION
1 Position oil cooler through fascia opening.
2 Loosely install left side oil cooler mounting screw (Fig. 57).
3 Install the upper oil cooler line and tighten to 34 Nm (25 ft. lbs.).
4 Position oil cooler and install and tighten the right side oil cooler mounting screw to 23 Nm (200 in. lbs.) (Fig. 57).
5 Tighten the left side oil cooler mounting screw to 23 Nm (200 in. lbs.).
6 Install the lower oil cooler line and tighten to 34 Nm (25 ft. lbs.).
7 Start the engine to circulate and fill the oil cooler. Shut off the engine and check the oil level. Add oil as needed.
8 Inspect the oil cooler connections for leaks and correct as needed.
