Radiator: Description and Operation
DESCRIPTIONThe radiator is a cross-flow type (horizontal tubes) and made of a copper/brass material. Its design features provide greater strength as well as sufficient heat transfer capabilities to keep the engine within the designed operating range.
OPERATION
The radiator functions as a heat exchanger, using airflow across the exterior of the radiator tubes.
Heat is then transferred from the coolant and into the air.
