Hood Latch Release Cable: Service and Repair
HOOD RELEASE CABLEREMOVAL
1. Release hood latch and open hood.

2. Pry cable casing end upward from U-slot on hood latch (Fig. 10).
3. Disengage release cable end from elongated slot in latch release lever.
4. Repeat Step 2 and Step 3 on other hood latch if cable is being replaced.
5. Through radiator air inlet in fascia, remove screws attaching hood release handle to back of front bumper reinforcement.
6. Tie a 112 cm (48 in.) length of monofilament line to the latch ends of the cables to aid installation. Tie the other end of line to hood hinge to ensure access during installation.
7. Pull cables from behind front fascia.
INSTALLATION
1. Position cables behind front fascia.
2. Through radiator air inlet in fascia, install screws holding hood release handle to back of front bumper reinforcement.
3. Engage release cable end to elongated slot in latch release lever repeat step for other side if being replace.
4. Push cable casing end downward into U-slot on hood latch.
5. Repeat Step 3 and Step 4 on other hood latch if cables are being replaced.
