Heater Control Valve: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

Water Control Valve:

The water valve is located on the toe box between the inlet and outlet heater hoses.

1. Drain engine cooling system.
2. Locate and loosen clamps at water control valve.
3. Disconnect the heater control cable and heater hoses from water control valve (mark the heater hoses to assure correct valve installation).
4. Remove water valve mounting bolts.

INSTALLATION
For installation, reverse the above procedures. Hose(s) must be fully seated on control valve within 1/16 in. of base. Assure that hose and nipple on water control valve are clean and dry. Never use oil or silicone when installing hose. Use new clamps. Refer to Temperature Control Cable for cable adjustment procedure.
